Care for Teen Patients (Ages 13+)

The teenage years are an important time for dental health, and we’re happy to see patients ages 13 and up. For teens, that usually means routine checkups and cleanings along with friendly guidance on brushing, flossing, and protecting their smile. We also evaluate developing wisdom teeth, and when orthodontic treatment like braces or aligners would help, we’re glad to provide a referral to a trusted orthodontist. We aim to make every visit relaxed so young patients feel at ease in the chair.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

Your first appointment is a thorough one — plan for about two hours. Dr. Randy Buntyn and our team will review your dental history and take comprehensive X-rays so we can accurately assess your needs, then complete a full evaluation of your teeth and gums. Based on that evaluation, we’ll plan the type of cleaning that’s right for you (cleanings aren’t always done the same day) and talk through any treatment you’d like to consider — no pressure and no surprises. You can save time at check-in by completing our new-patient forms ahead of time.

Smile Gulf Coast is a fee-for-service office, and if your plan allows you to see an out-of-network provider, we’re happy to file your insurance claim and give you our best estimate of your benefits.
